Autumnal Equinox Egg
At the time of the Autumnal Equinox, it has been said that an egg can be put upwards without falling at a certain hour of the day of the Equinox.
This egg was set in an upwards position on a day not associated with the date and time in question.
Therefore, one can set an egg up at anytime by having the egg yolk sitting heavier at the bottom of the egg!!!!

Amaryllis Glory
This month I will have this painting on exhibit at the Glynn Art Association in the Juried Member's Room Exhibit. These Amaryllis bulbs are now listed in the fall catalogue of Messelaar Bulbs imported from Holland. Each bulb send up 3 flowers, and then performs planted in one's garden at a later date with the same intensity of color.

Back yard garden
Temps this morning let up so that gardening was a tolerable and pleasant, although warm, event. The leaves had piled up and all needed a spruce up. Also, I found a lemon verbena plant to preplace one 3 years old that had been lost in last year's freeze. There is more to do, but that is the pattern of a garden.

TRUST JESUS
When Nigel, my puppy, and I walk early mornings at Gould's Inlet, I always look up at the sign in the upper window of the lovely three story white beach residence: "TRUST JESUS"! This morning I looked up, and...the message is gone!! I felt a great sadness, and will now look to see if anyone is indeed living on the third floor of that empty beach house...no life on the other floors or out front.

Reviewing the Celebration
The Boston Pops Fireworks to celebrate the 4th has been a favorite. Over the years the program has changed to delete the firing of the canon, and installing singers automated during the firewoks display. Nevertheless the Boston Pops orchestra remains the same in the shell on the Esplanade with casts of thousands cheering!

Zygmund Jankowski's birthday
Today is the birthday of my special mentor and friend who filled my life for many years with his art, teaching, humor and kindness. His artistic expressions and lessons influenced and gave inspiration to his many students. Zyg was a giant in his expressive art...one still sees through his eyes. Happy Birthday dear Zyg.

Nigel
This afternoon I had an appointment with my chiropractor, Dr. Berg, whose adjustments allowed my hip pain to disperse. I asked if he treated dogs, and "Yes", so I may take Nigel for an adjustment. Nigel needs to lose a few pounds...with high temperatures it's not easy for him to run on the beach. He is now in full coat as a Tibetan Terrior rather than having a puppy hair cut...longer hair is supposed to protect from the heat. I'll advise the followup.

Gould's Inlet, oil painting
Today Nigel and I went for an early morning walk at Gould's Inlet here on the Island. There were only a few other walkers and fishermen. The sand near the water was moist but Nigel sniffed around the higher sands before another doggy came for the morning walk. Then he came to the shoreline for a visit. We left at 8:30 AM as the air was getting toasty. Currently the days temps are upwards of 88 and one needs to head out before that time.
